In this position…

HR or Manufacturing candidate to lead attendance initiatives for manufacturing, ensuring consistency, alignment, and effective administration of plant attendance processes, advise on best-in-class attendance practices and continue to develop systems/tools to modernize the attendance process.

This position will report to Labor Affairs.

What you'll do…

  • External benchmarking on best-in-class attendance practices
  • Review administration of the following practices by location:
    • 10 Day Quit Process
    • 90+ day removals from active rolls
    • Temp removals from active rolls
    • Code Changes (after-the fact, COVID close contact, medical, etc.)
    • Borrow/loan floor process
    • Employee Check-in
    • Addressing Missed Opportunities
    • Daily Absenteeism Reporting
    • Attendance Discipline
    • Temp Hiring/Attrition
  • Identify opportunities to improve and the corrective actions required.
  • Streamline attendance practices to modernize the processes.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Develop and maintain modern solutions for local SPOCs to effectively administer the provisions on the National Attendance Program.
  • Conduct meetings:
    • SPOC Alignment Meetings (w/All SPOCs)
    • Plant Attendance Administration Reviews (w/local SPOC and HRM)
    • Manufacturing Leadership Attendance Reviews (w/VP, DOMs & Labor Affairs)
  • Partner with manufacturing GDIA Lead to provide guidance, recommendations, and oversight on attendance projects (i.e. ART analysis, etc.).
  • Ensure standardized attendance reports are updated and maintained on a regular cadence.

You'll have…

  • 5+ years' experience in Human Resources, Manufacturing, or related field 
  • Previous manufacturing plant experience 
  • Ability to analyze data and use technology to identify and diagnose business needs
  • Ability to lead others to deliver cross functional objectives and assignments
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and keen eye to details
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Presence to successfully influence/interface with the peers, and UAW working partners
  • Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Conflict management skills
  • Team-oriented, strong drive for results 
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

Even better you'll have…

  • Previous union contract negotiations experience 
  • Master's Degree 

Computer skills needed

  • Excel – data manipulation, pivoting, charting, look ups, etc.
  • MS Access – Creating and maintaining databases, tables, views, writing queries
  • VBA – Writing Visual Basic code to develop scripts and user forms to enter data into Excel and MS Access
  • SQL Querying – Being able to write queries on Microsoft SQL Server. This is optional and someone who is strong in MS Access will be able to pick this up
