Position Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Supervisor to lead the Assembly, Wiring, and Testing team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the second shift to ensure production schedules are met with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Primary Duties:
- Lead and supervise a team of assembly, wiring, and testing technicians during the 2nd shift, ensuring alignment with daily production goals
- Supervises, trains, and hires personnel and manages the team ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards
- Ensure adherence to daily production goals, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
- Monitor and resolve production issues, including workflow bottlenecks and equipment constraints.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members; support skills development and cross-training efforts.
- Monitor attendance, conduct performance reviews, and participate in hiring and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing facility
- Ensures products meet customer specifications and quality expectations
- Convey detailed and timely operation reports to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
Experience & Skills:
- Strong technical understanding of electrical/mechanical assembly processes.
- Experience with reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance standards and lean principles.
- Ability to lead employees to motivate; foster open, honest, and candid communication; and determine strengths and weaknesses.
- Ensure all shop employees know and follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, other department managers and senior management.
- Must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in production.
- Understand production deadlines, shipping dates and must manage their time accordingly
- Promote excellence throughout the department
- Provide continuous improvement in all critical activities
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.
- Ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information.
- Interface with other manufacturing departments, engineering, purchasing, processing, shipping and sales
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Management or related field preferred.
- OR Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing leadership role (electrical assembly or related field strongly preferred).
- US Citizenship of C1 Permanent Resident Alien status
