LOCATION: This is a remote position and can be based from any location within the United States.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a VP, Federal Operations – Industrial Services works closely with the Executive Vice President, Program Managers, Project Managers, and Field Supervisors to support the growth and execution of federal contracts and industrial projects. This role provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and cross-functional support to ensure efficient execution of field work, adherence to quality and safety standards, and alignment with business development goals. The VP, Federal Operations plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, mentoring field leadership, and sustaining long-term client relationships within federal markets.

  • Support and assist with the development of strategic direction, organizational structure, and operational optimization.
  • Directly manage Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
  • Help promote the Tepa culture to employees and clients.
  • Provide support to identification and pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement streamlined and standardized processes and procedures supporting Industrial Services operations consistent with Tepa organization policies.
  • Assist with the overall management of federal operations in alignment with Tepa’s vision, core values, and goals.
  • Provide project/program management, as needed, and help develop personnel and project management skills of others.

Job Functions:

  • Lead and support federal program execution and field operations across active project sites.
  • Directly manage Project Managers and support oversight of Foremen and Field Supervisors.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project execution aligned with federal contract requirements.
  • Assist with the development and execution of project staffing plans and resource allocation.
  • Participate in strategic planning and process standardization for Industrial Services operations.
  • Monitor project performance and conduct monthly project reviews with project teams.
  • Support cost estimating, proposal development, and review of scopes and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, federal regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client interactions, including on-site visits and project updates.
  • Travel regularly to field sites to support execution and ensure leadership presence.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Safety, HR, Quality, and Procurement.
  • Promote team culture, field personnel development, and retention strategies.
  • Identify challenges early and work with teams to implement proactive solutions.
  • Represent the company in federal contract negotiations, audits, or conflict resolution as needed.
  • Perform project management duties on select federal projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, industrial technology, or related field
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in industrial or construction operations, including 8+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Proven experience working with federal clients and managing government contracts
