Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They assist Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also draft, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, assist supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and follow to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
 
A Manufacturing Development Engineer is charged with the processes in which high performance connectors for various applications in Aerospace and Military markets are produced. They will interface with many departments to create a unique and valuable product offering with clear advantages for our customers. They also need to leverage experience within TE and industry-wide qualification test methods to ensure compliance and reliability. A Manufacturing Development Engineer will methodically and scientifically study and compare proposed solutions to make data-driven decisions. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs as well as assist with the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

This is a remote position. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing manufacturing engineering expertise across multiple processes to include Plating, Stamping, Molding, and Assembly to several assigned projects while ensuring key deliverables are met per project schedules.
  • Analyzing data across many sources to review Financial, process, and product data across many parts and BOM structures to come to conclusions on best process/location across all Operations metrics.
  • Creating, developing, and qualifying tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards.
  • Work within TE and customer qualification requirements including AS9100 and military specifications and
  • Documenting all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems
  • Assisting Project Management Office and accounting in project quoting and manufacturing location selection to improve margin, OI, and ROI
  • Presenting sourcing options to management team
  • Collaborate effectively in a small, cross-functional team environment and work seamlessly across BU and Segment boundaries.
  • Interface confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
     

What your background should look like:

  • 5+ years of related experience with Bachelors degree 
  • Experience in SAP
  • Manufacturing Knowledge, familiar with plating, stamping, and assembly.
  • Ability to work globally and collaborate with individuals across different regions, time zones, and cultures.
  • Strong project execution skills with a relentless drive to succeed on demanding, advanced projects while demonstrating patience and resilience in overcoming setbacks and obstacles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to convey complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
