Senior Analyst, Pricing

We have plants in The Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, the United States and Brazil.</p> <p> </p> <p>The opportunity</p> <p> </p> <p>With your commercial experience and passion for pricing and analytics, as our Pricing Analyst you enhance profitability and drives consistency in pricing. You provide unbiased, fact-based information to support our commercial organization. You have the ability to build recommendations for the sales team to achieve regional targets. You are a key contributor in setting the price strategy, as well as in the escalation process and the monitoring of proposed profitability actions. In this position, you contribute to the development of the pricing tools and will be responsible for collecting and processing pricing data. The function will report into the VP Biochemicals.</p> <p> </p> <p>Main Responsibilities</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Day to day support to Sales towards enhancing profitability and pricing consistency. </li> <li>Collecting pricing data (e.g. raw material costs, regional cost sets) </li> <li>Support daily price realization by performing price calculations and providing price recommendations to the commercial organization</li> <li>Provide unbiased, fact based information to support cross-functional insights (based on analyses of inside and outside data) and communicate the information within the organization. </li> <li>Preparing and refreshing the data uploads </li> <li>Calculate impact of recommendation on current prices and expected number of escalations</li> <li>Initiate and monitor price escalations to ensure margin settings are maintained</li> <li>Implement continuous pricing and profitability improvements</li> <li>Define reactive and proactive recommendations towards the sales VPs in order to obtain the regional targets. </li> <li>Assist in the management and maintenance of customer pricing agreements and contracts.</li> <li>Prepare quarterly price list updates</li> <li>Supports quarterly price realization reviews</li> <li>Support yearly price setting by analyzing historic performance and prepare a recommendation for margin setting </li> <li>Fulfill a crucial role in setting the price strategy, as well as in the escalation process and the monitoring of proposed profitability actions.</li> <li>Contribute to the yearly price setting process by preparing price proposal analysis </li> <li>Skills are not limited to strong analytical thinking and data manipulation. </li> <li>Understand the cross-functional impact of decisions and have sufficient interpersonal skills to discuss with and convince stakeholders of necessary changes.</li> <li>Requires proven analytical, attention to detail and organizational skills. </li> <li>Strong communicator capable to convince others and deal with sensitive discussions. </li> <li>Generalist with experience in implementing corrective and improvement actions. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Your profile</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Bachelor degree in e.g. Economics, Statistics or Business Administration</li> <li>2 - 6 years’ experience years of experience in a relevant role (analytics, pricing, finance, etc.)</li> <li>Strong analytical skills (Expert knowledge of MS Excel, BI, SQL, analytical tools )</li> <li>Experience in reporting and analyzing data, having demonstrated the ability to solve issues with incomplete, uncertain or inaccurate data, leading to reliable insights and recommendations</li> <li>Experience with value based pricing and pricing research techniques preferred</li> <li>Good  business sense, with a genuine interest in the food and/or chemical industry </li> <li>Strong communicator who can clearly present her/his ideas across different levels in the organization</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>About Corbion <br/>  </p> <p>Corbion is the global market leader in lactic acid and its derivatives, and a leading supplier of emulsifiers, functional enzyme blends, minerals, vitamins, and algae ingredients.
