Manager Logistics & Distribution - Decatur, IL
This position is the liaison between Suppliers, Customer Support, Business Management, Technical Service and Sales.

Assignments may include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the logistics of our corn sweetener and starch supply chain with emphasis on our HFCS business.
  • Manage two logistics coordinators who help support various aspects of the business unit.
  • Maintain truck carrier relationships at all locations.  Site visits may be required.
  • Oversight of product returns.  Establish process for invoicing and collection.
  • Review and put forward input on supply chain polices each year.
  • Compilation of rates for sales/commercial teams
  • Freight cost analysis.
  • Manage accessorial charge review.  Establish ideas for improvement.
  • Facilitate, negotiate and enforce service contracts and thru put rates for transfer terminals.
  • Supervise the payment of 3rd party vendors through use of Coupa and Maximo payment systems.
  • Analyze rail car fleet.  Help determine optimum fleet size for all locations.
  • Be aware of rail car movement to key customers.  Assist corporate transportation with ideas for improvement.
  • Active participation in all rail negotiations with corporate transportation.  Working knowledge of expiration dates.
  • Ongoing review of truck and rail car weight optimization.
  • Use of Tableau and PowerBi data base for analytics.
Qualifications
To be considered for an opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of the IBM inventory and order processing system along with Tableau, PowerBi, Coupa, and Maximo is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 3 years of previous experience in an ADM Operations/Logistics role is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills. Quick and accurate decision maker.
  • Ability to set goals, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to work closely and communicate effectively with all business functions.
  • Must be able to maintain a strong working relationship with commercial managers/directors.
  • Occasional visits to production facilities will be necessary. Minimal travel may be required.  Other duties to be assigned as requested.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $132,900.00
