About the role

Position Description

Serco is seeking a Sr. Principal Military Trainer – Mission Command Systems Training Lead to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa. In this leadership role, you will supervise and lead a team of trainers, ensuring effective instruction and operational readiness for Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS). You will play a key role in managing course delivery, system integration, and technical readiness.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise a team of Individual Computer-Based Trainers and ensure instructional delivery follows approved Programs of Instruction (POIs).
  • Provide reach-back support for training staff at additional sites.
  • Maintain current software versions on all MCIS systems and ensure equipment serviceability.
  • Manage course scheduling and promote team cross-training and professional development.
  • Prepare MCIS briefing materials for the training audience.
  • Oversee preparation and support for simulation exercises, including WARSIM and related systems.
  • Provide over-the-shoulder MCIS support during training exercises.
  • Support classroom instruction and participate in the delivery of all assigned training.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of MCIS teaching experience.
    • Master’s degree with at least 8 years of MCIS teaching experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Command Post Operations.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Strong experience with Training Development Analysis, technical writing, and POI creation.
  • Subject matter expertise in CPCE and integration of MCIS for Mission Command Training.
  • Extensive experience with MCIS systems including CPCE, AFATDS, AMDWS, TAIS, GCCS-A, JADOCS, Command Web, Tactical Messaging, WAVE, and JBC-P.
  • Familiarity with simulation systems such as JLCCTC and DXTRS.
  • Ability to obtain Network+ certification if required based on system expertise.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to work onsite at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa.

  • Demonstrated leadership in training teams and managing instructional systems.
  • A deep understanding of Army MCIS platforms and their integration in training environments.
  • Experience developing and implementing comprehensive instructional strategies.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Current Network+ certification.
