We are looking for candidates in the Salem, NH Metro area, Boston Metro Area, San Jose Metro Area and the Raleigh-Durham Metro Area. This is a Hybrid work model which will require team members come into the office once a week on Finance Days and Accounting "close" calls.
This role will report to the Director of Accounting and External Reporting and is designed to augment existing resources and increase oversight and the timely identification of issues and evaluation.  The role will be responsible for supporting special projects, involving collaboration and coordination across numerous departments. We are seeking someone with a result oriented, customer service mindset and a desire to learn.  Responsibilities·        Perform technical accounting research and analyze business transactions and prepare detailed documentation to support accounting conclusions. Concisely communicate actions needed to senior leadership·        Monitor emerging accounting standards and projects, assist with the adoption of new accounting standards, including drafting accounting positions and policies·        Serve as a resource to the Finance team and business with questions on U.S. GAAP accounting, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them·        Assist with special projects, including due diligence, purchase price allocation and third-party valuation for M&A activities and other ad hoc requests from management·        Assist in accounting for any unusual and complex transactions around revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), equity (ASC 718), capitalized software development costs and other areas as needed·        Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures·        Participate on strategic financial projects including upgrades/ implementation of ERP and other financial tools·        Be a change agent for continuous process improvement with a focus on internal controls, efficiency and automation, implementing new systems and assist other departments with improvement projects and driving strategic Controllership initiatives ·        Develop and deliver training for Finance and Accounting teams on significant accounting requirements, new pronouncements, and impact on the operations, if any·        As needed, assist with monthly/quarterly close process, review journal entries, and assist with external reporting requirements, other SEC filings and corporate data requestsQualifications·        Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA required.·        7+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting·        In-depth knowledge and experience with US GAAP, SOX 404, FASB, SEC, XBRL rules (will be a plus) and reporting·        Strong interpretation, decision-making and analytical capabilities, and skills in accounting for US GAAP reporting requirements·        Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting reporting deadlines·        Strong written skills due to senior management visibility and external visibility ·        Excellent attention to detail (formatting, grammar, comprehensive assessment tie-out accuracy and disclosure completeness)·        Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and committed to success·        Adaptable and comfortable working in fast paced environments
