Fuel & Retail RM&E Operations Project Manager

Location: Remote, U.S. (Central U.S. preferred; proximity to a major airport required)
Travel: Approximately 20–25%, as needed

The Fuel & Retail RM&E Operations Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating real estate, maintenance, and environmental (RM&E) activities across World Kinect’s fuel and convenience retail portfolio.

This role focuses on project management, coordination, and execution oversight. It works closely with third‑party operators, landlords, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure RM&E activities are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.

The position is well suited for an experienced project manager or operations professional who enjoys managing multiple workstreams, coordinating vendors, and serving as a central point of connection in complex, shared‑responsibility operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

RM&E Project Coordination

  • Coordinate real estate, maintenance, and environmental activities across a multi‑site fuel and convenience retail portfolio.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for RM&E‑related coordination between operators, landlords, vendors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Track scope, timelines, dependencies, and completion of RM&E initiatives across assigned sites.
  • Support site walks and inspections to assess site condition, safety considerations, and compliance needs.

Maintenance, Capital & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and minor capital projects based on defined contractual responsibilities.
  • Review vendor scopes of work, proposals, and invoices for scope alignment, accuracy, and budget compliance.
  • Monitor vendor performance, safety compliance, and service execution.
  • Support site upgrades, refurbishments, rebrands, and image initiatives in coordination with Retail Operations, Construction, and external partners.

Fuel, Environmental & Regulatory Support

  • Coordinate fuel system maintenance and environmental compliance activities with internal HSE teams and external consultants.
  • Track required inspections, documentation, and reporting, including fuel dispenser and pump inspections.
  • Support activities related to underground storage tanks (USTs), spill response coordination, regulatory inspections, and follow‑up actions.
  • Serve as a coordination point with regulatory agencies (e.g., fire marshal, environmental authorities) as needed.
  • Assist with environmental issue tracking, remediation coordination, and documentation management.

Lease & Shared‑Responsibility Support

  • Support administration of lease‑related RM&E provisions, including maintenance, repair, and access obligations.
  • Help document and track shared‑responsibility boundaries between World Kinect, landlords, and operators.
  • Assist with escalation and resolution of RM&E‑related issues involving access, scope clarity, or responsibility disputes.

Cross‑Functional Partnership & Reporting

  • Partner closely with Retail Operations, Construction, Legal, Finance, Risk, Procurement, and HSE teams.
  • Provide RM&E coordination support during new site onboarding, transitions, and portfolio changes.
  • Maintain trackers, documentation, and reporting to support visibility across ongoing RM&E activities.
  • Prepare periodic updates and summaries for Retail Operations leadership as requested.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, retail operations, facilities coordination, property support, or related roles.
  • Experience working in multi‑site or shared‑responsibility environments involving vendors and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Clear, proactive communication and strong follow‑through.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to operating locat
