Job Description

AECOM Spain MEP team is a highly qualified group of experts in offering the best solutions to international client’s needs all around the world.

Our building services engineers are at the forefront of their discipline for the design of the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems required for the safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly operation of buildings. We embrace world class methodologies and technologies, including information rich Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to facilitate more efficient ways of working and design at all stages of the project life-cycle.

Join our dynamic and motivated team as a Senior Electrical Engineer! You'll play a key role in project delivery, mentor junior colleagues, and help shape the future of our engineering team. You'll contribute to the success, management, and delivery of medium to large-scale projects.

In this role, you will:

  • Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.
  • Make major design recommendations and decisions with input from senior staff.
  • Plan design work, calculate costs and assign design duties to junior staff on projects.
  • Coordinate design and schedules with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.
  • Act as an advisor and review correspondence prepared by junior project team members.
  • Attend project meetings or delegate activities when appropriate.
  • Meet with clients, prepare presentations if needed, and maintain good client relations.
  • Assist in project quality control checks on other projects.
  • Have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans and drawings.
  • Be able to switch between working on multiple different projects.
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.

Qualifications

What we expect from you?

Summarizing the basics for this role: BS in Electrical Engineering, specialized in designing electrical installations for different kind of buildings, fluency in English and Spanish languages and passion for engineering (you enjoy designing and calculating the best solutions).

Requirements in detail:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or industrial engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program.
  • At least, 7 years of experience in a similar role or demonstrated equivalency of experience within engineering role.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
  • Motivation for keep working in engineering role, doing design and calculations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good communication skills.
  • Good knowledge in international regulations and standards (NFPA, BS, IEC, etc).
  • Knowledge in engineering calculation software for electrical discipline (CANECO, ETAP, among others).
