You'll play a crucial role in enhancing SUSE's security posture across cloud-based and on-premises infrastructures. As part of our integrated team, you'll contribute to project-based activities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.</p><p></p><p><u><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Manage and optimize SUSE's security stack, including SIEM, EDR, and email protection systems, with emphasis on incident, asset, and vulnerability management.</p></li><li><p>Assist in security processes by improving workflows, developing new detection use-cases, and automating routine tasks.</p></li><li><p>Serve as a subject matter expert in incident response, asset management, and vulnerability management.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to the team's strategic direction by developing innovative solutions to complex security challenges.</p></li><li><p>Oversee the asset management subsystem, defining processes and creating integrations.</p></li><li><p>Blend technical expertise with business acumen to deliver superior security solutions for SUSE and its employees.</p></li><li><p>Participate in environment hardening and continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis of security incidents.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate effectively within a geographically distributed team, fostering transparency and teamwork.</p></li><li><p>Exercise decision-making authority in your area of expertise, with team support when needed.</p></li><li><p>Advise business functions on security requirements, providing assessments and guidance as a security team representative.</p></li></ul><p>Required Skills and Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Proficiency in Vulnerability Assessment and Asset Management principles and tools</p></li><li><p>Experience designing, deploying, and operating Vulnerability Assessment infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments</p></li><li><p>Strong automation skills using scripting languages and APIs</p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of cloud security principles</p></li><li><p>Programming skills, preferably in Python</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with AWS security controls (e.g., Security Groups, S3 permissions, Firewall Manager)</p></li><li><p>In-depth knowledge of incident response methodologies and cyber attack stages</p></li><li><p>Strong grasp of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies</p></li><li><p>Expertise in system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques</p></li><li><p>Understanding of email security principles</p></li><li><p>Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives for detection and response capabilities</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and collaboration skills</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Education and Experience:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Typically 4+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or related field</p></li><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (preferred)</p></li><li><p>Industry certifications such as CISSP or OSCP are advantageous but not required</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Join our team to drive security excellence and innovation at SUSE, making a significant impact on our global cybersecurity efforts.</p><p></p><p>Please note that this position is subject to background checks</p><p><span>This position is subject to a background check(s), including criminal, credit, and/or employment references.
