POSITION SUMMARY

The Mountain Safety Team Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Mountain Safety Team by providing direct supervision, training, and guidance to both paid and volunteer staff. The primary responsibility of the MST Supervisor is to enhance skier and rider safety through consistent on-mountain presence, guest engagement, and accident prevention. The MST Supervisor promotes a culture of safety by encouraging responsible skiing and riding, enforcing “Your Responsibility Code,” maintaining proper signage and equipment, and addressing safety concerns.

The MST Supervisor works closely with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and other departments to support safe practices and positive guest experiences. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills, and is committed to both employee and guest safety. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and occasional short-notice shifts. This is a non-union, seasonal supervisory role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reports to the Mountain Safety Team Manager

  • Assist with staffing, training, evaluating, and scheduling of MST staff and volunteers

  • Provide daily on-hill supervision and leadership to the MST crew

  • Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support coaching and training

  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate operational updates, events, and expectations

  • Promote guest and employee safety through visibility, engagement, and education

  • Track and document volunteer hours for HR reporting

  • Ensure all safety equipment and signage are in place and maintained

  • Support and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards

  • Collaborate with Ski Patrol and other departments regarding guest safety concerns, conflict resolution, and incident follow-up

  • Maintain daily logs and report deficiencies to appropriate departments
