Details of Research Project:
The candidate is expected to lead a cutting-edge research project using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models and multi-omics approaches to address mechanisms of neuron-glia interactions in neurodegeneration.
Technical Duties: (include any protocols)
Broad technical experience in cell culture (expertise in human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation), biochemistry (enzyme-catalyzed proximity labeling and mass spectrometry), molecular biology (prior experience in CRISPR-based genome editing and screening), synaptic biology (e.g. electrophysiology and related optical approaches), or behavioral neuroscience (e.g. in vivo optogenetics/calcium imaging).
Educational and other Requirements for the position: Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology or related disciplines. No experience at the postdoctoral level needed.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: Through this work, the candidate is expected to uncover new biology governing the interactions of neurons and glia and to dessiminate their findings through oral presentations at scientific conferences, and written publications at major scientific journals. The candidate will be responsible for independently desiging experiments, collecting data and analyzing results, while also maintaining a record of their research activity in laboratory notebook, protocols and manuals.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $73,588.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
