Position Overview

East Moline Correctional Center is seeking an individual who can prepare, maintain, and review a complex set of accounting ledgers. The ideal candidate will prepare obligating documents for approval for goods and services needed at the institution, while maintaining detailed ledger blanket authorization expenditure. In addition, this position will serve as back-up to facility Account Technician I's in Vouchering, Payroll and Timekeeping and prepare all service requests. Job Responsibilities

1. Prepares, maintains, and reviews a complex set of accounting ledgers used to support acquisitions and inventory of institution equipment.
2. Prepares obligating documents for approval for goods and services needed at the institution.
3. Maintains detail ledger blanket authorization expenditure.
4. Serves as back-up to facility Account Technician I’s in Vouchering, Payroll, and Timekeeping.
5. Prepares all service requests.
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in pricing commodities.
2. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience with verifying institutions property records.
3. Prefers at least one (1) year experience in a storeroom.
4. Prefers at least one (1) year experience with verifying and maintaining monthly computer printouts of storeroom inventory.
5. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in a business office.
6. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in accounting.
7. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in reviewing payroll time reports.
8. Prefers at least one (1) year of working experience in timekeeping of 200+ employees.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
2. Requires ability to pass a drug screen.  The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
