Director, Supplier Relations (Remote)

Full-time, United States

 

The Director, Supplier Relations manages all aspects of an assigned portfolio of global or regional suppliers, including but not limited to developing and directing supplier strategy, contract negotiation, sale of products and services, financials (budgets, billing, payment, and profitability), business planning and reviews, establishing relationships with key decision makers locally, regionally and globally, business continuance and escalation of operational issues. This role is accountable for meeting and exceeding supplier portfolio budgets.

 

As a Director, Supplier Relations, you will

 

• Negotiate agreements with preferred suppliers (global, regional, country)
• Create and implement strategic initiatives for an individual portfolio of suppliers, in coordination with the regional and global strategy, to drive incremental revenue opportunities and mitigate potential risks
• Monitor ongoing performance of supplier initiatives to address market changes proactively
• Act as primary contact for a defined portfolio of suppliers, including airline, ground transportation, hotel, rail, and other suppliers as required
• Ensure positive relationships exist at all necessary levels of a portfolio of suppliers’ organizations and across BCD
• Proactively manage contractual targets with travel suppliers, evaluating both yield optimization and risk mitigation based on current and forecasted performance
• Work with Program Managers and Operations Managers to improve adoption and performance with preferred suppliers
• Ownership of internal knowledge sharing of content availability for a portfolio of suppliers, liaising with both the supplier and internal teams
• Educate internal stakeholders on a portfolio of supplier's content strategies
• Coordination with Program, Operational Management, Distribution, and technical teams to ensure that access to content and any limitations are well-known
• Coordination with product and technology teams to understand the timing/availability of content in specific channels, assisting with communications when needed
• Remain up to date on industry trends while evaluating whether industry changes have the potential to impact BCD's business
• Proactively manage contractual targets with travel suppliers, evaluating both yield optimization and risk mitigation based on current and forecasted performance.
• Utilize supplier, internal, and 3rd party data to analyze supplier contractual performance, ensuring optimal revenues and earnings rates.
• Constantly evaluate supplier incentive results against local/regional/global strategy to optimize performance.
• Partner with Supplier Analysts teams to create new and innovative tools to drive efficiency in contract reporting and promote creativity in contract optimization

 

About you

 

• Extensive travel industry experience in supplier relations or management role
• Thorough knowledge of business travel management, the travel industry, and travel industry technology
• Firm grasp of current supplier strategies
• You can think for the future to mitigate risks
• You have an understanding of NDC and the ability to champion the topic through the organization
• Practical communication skills (oral, written & presentation) in English
