Responsibilities
We seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to provide project management and acquisition support of Auxiliary Power Systems for our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Part/Patuxent River, MD. Remote Work is available.
This positon is in the Component and Aux Power branch of the Engines and Auxiliary Power Division of the Propulsion and Power Department at NAVAIR.
What you will do…
Project/Program Engineer in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes in research and engineering, test and evaluation and logistics functions.
- Identifies and solves a wide variety of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables and constraints.
- Delivers optimized technical solutions that are balanced to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints.
- Functions as a project lead, program manager, team lead or member of an integrated team/group providing technical guidance to a technical workforce and meeting customer requirements for products and/or services.
- Project/Program Management - manage a small to medium scale/scope or segments of a project/program. Applies tools such as but not limited to: Risk Management Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measurement, Technical Reviews, Modeling & Simulation or Earned Value Management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA
- A minimum of a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program and 2+ years of professional experience of progressively more responsible work;
- Project management experience, preferably related to aircraft and engine-related systems.
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of engineering that enable you to serve as a subject matter point of contact in the design, development, test, evaluation, and service application of aircraft engines and/or Auxiliary Power systems.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires a US citizen.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
