Job Description

The VP & Sr. Credit Officer, Multifamily leads the organization that is responsible for developing corporate parameters for Multifamily (MF) credit risk and establishing associated risk limits and thresholds. The group also provides independent oversight of the MF book and acquisitions and evaluates the effectiveness of risk management across the business. The VP & Sr. Credit Officer, Multifamily reports to the SVP and Chief Credit Officer.

The VP & Sr. Credit Officer, Multifamily role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading a team that provides effective oversight of risk management within the Multifamily business unit.
  • Oversee Multifamily compliance with the principles established in the Enterprise Credit Risk Policy, and the related Multifamily Credit Risk Management Standard.
  • Ensure that business unit policies and procedures to implement sound credit risk management practices are in place.
  • Establish Multifamily limits, escalate limit breaches, review management action plans to address breaches, and monitor the execution of the action plans.
  • Monitor business activity to ensure adherence to the established risk thresholds.
  • Review risk reporting to assess risk levels against established limits and to proactively identify emerging credit risk trends.
  • Represents Enterprise Risk Management on various committees and senior management meetings within the Multifamily Mortgage Business.
  • Responsible for identifying potential risk issues and escalating as appropriate.
  • Works closely with the Multifamily Chief Credit Officer to understand key risks within business.
  • Additionally, in the event of limit breaches, collaborates with Multifamily to follow the limit escalation protocol.
  • Works with other oversight groups to assess potential issues (e.g.:, measurement analytics or staffing) relating to the Multifamily BU's ability to measure key credit risks.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of corporate level credit policies governing the Multifamily division, including the review and update of these policies.
  • Responsible for leading the quarterly review and independent challenge of the Allowance for Loan Losses for the Multifamily division.

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • 5+ years of Management experience
