Position Details
Provide assistance to Rewinder Operator necessary to ensure safe and efficient rewinder operation to ensure maximum quality and productivity, with minimum downtime.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. High School or equivalent, mechanical aptitude.
2. Minimum 1-year experience with production machines.
3. Ability to lift 35 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
4. Must be in (current) Marcal Paper role for at least 6 months to post for promotion within same department.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
1. Ability to climb, stoop, bend on continuous basis; 35-pound minimum lifting.
2. Visual acuity and verbal communications skills.
3. Self-motivated, good work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist rewinder operator with ensuring machine is performing safely and efficiently, assist with grade changes and adjustments as required.
2. Perform operation of rewinder when operator is on break in safe and efficient manner, as required.
3. Monitor quality of product, i.e. footage, diameter, perforation, etc. Communicate any quality issues in
appropriate, timely manner.
4. Ensure adequate supply of usable cores available for rewinder operation at maximum speeds.
5. Perform footage and dispensing tests as required to ensure quality standards are met.
6. Preparation of parent rolls in a timely manner.
7. Communication to appropriate personnel of any equipment operational deficiency, product quality
changes or safety issues.
8. Ensure minimum product waste and maintain work area neat and clean.
9. Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations.
10. Adhere to Company policy and procedure.
11. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function of this position.
12. Other duties, as assigned, including assisting other lines as required.
