JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State SIMBA Team is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Team Lead to manage and support the enterprise financial system for Penn State on SAP S/4HANA.The SAP Basis Team Lead supervises the daily operation, maintenance, and support of SAP Landscape.
This position has a remote work option. Occasional night/weekend work will be necessary for patches/planned production outages. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to apply.
Typical Duties
- Lead the team that manages the SAP systems in Microsoft Azure IaaS as well as private cloud in PSU data centers. This will include administration of SAP and associated third party applications, transport management (Charm + STMS), automation, security, application upgrades, and patches.
- Advise other IT staff and management on considerations for SAP infrastructure and provide guidance when planning deployments and upgrades for the SAP environment and supporting services.
- Create, test, and plan disaster recovery for the SAP Landscape
- Provide leadership to team members and work cohesively with technical and functional teams to determine priorities and signoffs.
- Create and/or improve technical documentation and internal knowledge-based articles. maintain system documentation for all environments.
- Set team and individual objectives, monitor progress, and provide feedback in accordance with individual plans and team objectives.
- Establish clear expectations regarding status reporting, team communication, and deliverable management.
- Perform troubleshooting, error handling and problem resolution.
- Engage with stakeholders through ServiceNow ticketing system; respond to and remediate system incidents.
- Monitor workload performance and ensure availability.
Education and experience
This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years SAP BASIS experience on SAP S/4
- Supervisor experience
- The ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with other specialized staff and non-specialized staff to achieve goals and milestones.
- Experience with SAP Application installations, upgrades, patches, performance, and tuning
- The ability to provide direction for troubleshooting to help resolve SAP incidents.
- Experience with SAP application and HANA upgrades
- Experience with Correction and Transport
