Overview:

As an Asset Protection Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for Wayfair associates, customers, and visitors. You will actively monitor and respond to security and safety concerns, providing support during emergencies and maintaining the integrity of Wayfair’s operations. With a focus on professionalism, customer service, and proactive problem-solving, this role is essential to protecting Wayfair’s people, assets, and reputation. What Does an Asset Protection Specialist Do?

• Engage and Protect: Build trust and confidence by greeting visitors, contractors, and employees with a professional and approachable demeanor. Provide assistance and guidance while maintaining a secure environment.
• Monitor and Respond: Actively oversee security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarms, to identify and address potential risks. Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.
• Demonstrate Reliability: Attendance and punctuality are crucial to maintaining a secure environment. Proactively communicate and plan for any unexpected events to ensure consistent coverage and support.
• Always Be Vigilant: Approach every shift with a proactive mindset, identifying and addressing potential security risks before they escalate. Maintain detailed records of incidents, daily activities, and safety assessments to support continuous improvement.
• Provide Safety Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of all site-specific policies and security protocols. Implement emergency response procedures and access control systems to ensure compliance with Wayfair’s safety standards. Conduct regular safety assessments and resolve issues promptly.
• Support Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the Asset Protection Manager and Lead on investigations, initiatives, and safety training. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and secure environment for all.

What are the Job Requirements?

• Asset Protection & Security Experience: 1+ year of experience in asset protection, security, or a related field required. (Experience with access control systems & CCTV systems is a plus.)
• Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Flexible Availability: You must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Customer-Facing Experience: 1+ year of customer service experience in a retail or customer-facing environment is preferred.
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Sheets, and other tools, with the ability to learn and navigate necessary security and operational systems.
• Core Competencies: Strong professionalism, independent judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential situations. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively document incidents and interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
• Time Management & Multitasking: Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
