Design Project Coordinator II, III, or IV: District Portfolio Office (Austin District)

TxDOT's Austin District Portfolio Office (Central Design) is looking for a Design Project Coordinator II, III or IV positions in Austin, Texas. This position requires technical experience with contract management, some computer aided drafting expertise and project management experience for the design and development of predominantly consultant designed roadway transportation and multimodal projects. Applicants should have experience with contract development, scope of work creation, level of effort and fee negotiations experience as well as schedule management for consultant designed roadway improvement projects. Some of these projects will consist of complex urban and rural safety improvement projects, mobility projects, as well as innovative intersection improvements, main lane widening, retaining wall design, freeway ramp reversals, bridge replacements and complex drainage projects.

Assists with project planning and oversight, and the development of policies and procedures for area of responsibility. Work requires contact with governmental officials, consultants, contractors and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

This position is for ONE (1) Design Project Coordinator II, IIII, IV.  The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of the position based on the applicant’s work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Salary Grade/Plan:

• Design Project Coordinator II: B20 ($51,158 - $81,351/yearly)
• Design Project Coordinator III: B21 ($54,278 - $87,046/yearly)
• Design Project Coordinator IV: B22 ($57,614 - $93,138/yearly)
