SUPERVISOR:
Director or designee. 

SUMMARY:  
Assist Performance Improvement Department Directors in providing expertise, vision and leadership to teachers, administrators, and community interest groups in the designated area of expertise, specifically, curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Collaborate with the Performance Improvement Department Directors to lead the continuous improvement in instructional practices of the designated content area for all students. Assignments include Elementary and Secondary levels, and Literacy, Math, Visual and Performing Arts, Science, or Social Studies content areas. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job; not all tasks may be performed by each employee. Duties and assignments may vary based on content assignment and academic year. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only.

  • Manage and oversee assigned curriculum content area. Lead the development of districtwide standards for curriculum delivery as well as the implementation of the districtwide professional development plan and vision. Assist Performance Improvement Department Directors and Executive Directors of schools with planning, coordinating, and managing the daily operations of their assigned content area. [Daily, 20%]
  • Evaluate classroom instruction, provide on-site coaching, and support the implementation of best instructional practices. Supports teachers’ understanding and design of “best assessment practices” in instruction, emphasizing the use of strong body of evidence. Provide guidance on current and future legislative initiatives impacting designated area of expertise. [Daily, 15%]
  • Lead, implement, and communicate the Colorado Academic Standards using best instructional practices that will promote success for all students. [Daily, 15%]
  • Create, restructure, and manage professional learning opportunities related to highly effective instruction in the blended learning and instructional technology arena for schools. Model and implement differentiated instruction with digital tools. Guide buildings in the development and implementation of adopting blended learning models to enhance student achievement by providing coaching and direction related to teaching and learning in blended environments. Support teachers in assessing student learning using a variety of digital tools. [Daily, 10%]
  • Enlist collaborative support of Instructional Coaches, Instructional Coordinators, and site coordinators to align, implement and address specific learning goals and district initiatives. Work in collaboration with Learning Partners to support ongoing district initiatives. [Daily, 5%]
  • Support the analysis of systems and structures that serve to strengthen or act as barriers. Implement effective systems and structures to ensure high levels of learning for every student. [Daily, 5%]
  • Develop and implement professional development in designated area of expertise. [Daily, 5%]
  • Build and maintain a strong professional relationship with all District and school-based collaborative teams, including the support of systems level understanding of the needs of special populations. [Daily, 5%]
  • Create, update, and provide access to district curricular resources. [Daily, 5%]
  • Builds leadership capacity to promote lasting structures that will support student achievement needs. [Daily, 5%]
  • Represent the Cherry Creek School District at State level and local meetings while staying current with federal guidelines, legislation, and trends and current ideas. [Monthly, 5%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master's degree in Education Administration, Curriculum Leadership, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of instructional leadership or staff development experience.
  • Experience with adult learning theory and professional learning.
  • Experience using State standards and their alignment to instruction.
  • Experience developing assessments and using data for instructional decision-making.
