About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor will manage and supervise the daily operations of the Main warehouse section of the Branch Distribution Center, including receiving, storage, packaging, shipping, delivery, document control, and facility and assigned equipment maintenance. Oversee the inventory count process, assist with reconciliation and manage local delivery routes. This is a hands-on position.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Experience with small carrier shippers (UPS, USPS and FedEx, long haul FTL and LTL procedures and requirements.
- Review daily workload for security room and assign work to associates in a fair and equitable manner, ensuring all tasks are completed as scheduled
- Monitor the order picking process and double check orders to ensure the correct items and quantities of merchandise have been pulled from stock according to Shipping Documents. Monitor the packing, packaging, marking, stenciling, labeling, palletizing, strapping, and loading of outgoing shipments to comply with customer and contract requirements
- Supervise and facilitate the receipt of all inbound merchandise from manufacturers and other sources. Ensure that merchandise is received in the correct condition,
- Maintain storage plans and a locator system to optimize the amount of product that can be stored.
- Prepare merchandise in the General Warehouse for periodic inventories. Assist with counting and reconciliation of Branch inventories as well as researching inventory discrepancies
- Secure the distribution center at the end of the workday. Ensure areas are clean, lights are off, high security areas are secured, all doors are locked, and security alarms are set to protect the facility, equipment, and merchandise.
- Interview, train, supervise, evaluate, and recommend salary adjustments for all General Warehouse Associates
- Maintain required OSHA and DOT required documentation.

Minimum Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Five years warehouse related experience including up to one year supervisory/management experience.
- Forklift and reach-truck qualified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Strong Communication skills
- Critical thinking, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with automated shipping and inventory control systems
- Knowledgeable about precautions needed to protect those in the warehouse from injuries and oversee strict adherence to all safety measures
- Abreast of DOT regulations and policies. Must supervise CDL A qualified delivery drivers daily
- Strong computer skills are a must.
