As a Senior HR Generalist at Upwork, you will help build an inclusive and engaging culture that drives business results by delivering measurable and sustained value-added solutions. As a consultative and trusted advisor to all levels of our employee base, you will be a point of contact on a variety of day-to-day HR matters alongside the HRBP team. You’ll also be a significant contributor to iterating on HR programs and other key HR initiatives

Your Responsibilities:
- Support and contribute to the ongoing development of HR programs and processes to deliver a great employee experience. This would include consulting, coaching, and supporting on performance management programs, talent management activities, total rewards programs, policy changes, relocation requests, HR process improvements, offboarding, and employee relations.
- Partner with HRBPs and org leadership to support HR strategies across teams and create consistent processes. May include compiling data and analyzing for initial insights, collaborating with cross-functional partners, drafting communications, creating manager and employee-facing resources, process mapping, etc.
- Collaborate and influence at multiple levels of the organization to drive process improvements, problem solve, and develop forward looking strategies.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and leaders with discretion and expertise; properly navigating through ambiguity, maintaining confidentiality, and exercising judgment as necessary. Escalate complex and/or sensitive matters timely to the appropriate HRBP and/or Director, Employee Experience.

- Experience navigating conflict, sensitive situations, and unfamiliar challenges with ease.
How to really knock our socks off:
- 3+ years of dynamic experience in HR or a related function, supporting a variety of client groups.
- A combination of experience in at least 3 of the following areas: performance management, business advising, compensation and rewards, talent acquisition, leaves of absence and ADA, onboarding, recognition programs, leader coaching, learning & development, employee engagement, conflict resolution, data analysis, policy changes, systems (HR or ERP), and employee relations.
- Experience interfacing cross functionally in HR. Maybe you’ve worked in recruiting, compensation, people operations, facilities, or something else!
- You are a dedicated professional with experience in putting ideas into practice and assessing results.
The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $80,000 - $120,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
