Basic Job Functions:

The Mechanical Engineer will lead improvement efforts by partnering with production and maintenance teams to identify opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop effective solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of projects from design through implementation, including completion of as-built drawings.

Candidates must be willing to support scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BS in Engineering
2. Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD software
3. Experience designing, fabricating, and installing mechanical equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems
2. Understanding of lubrication practices and fluid pumping systems
3. Project management experience
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD
