Precision Hydraulic Cylinders, INC (PHC) is a leading global Manufacturer of custom engineered cylinders for some of the worlds largest OEM’s to use in manufacturing mobile equipment such as fork lifts, cranes, articulated dump trucks, back hoes, ect. The company is headed in Wilmington NC and operates in Duplin COUNTY, NC, the United Kingdom and India.

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an experienced manufacturing General Manager to oversee the daily operations of two manufacturing sites. in the United States/Wilmington, NC area. Over the last 45 years, Precision Hydraulic Cylinders (PHC) has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets. Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for continually improving safety culture, processes, and outcomes.
• Maintain high levels of productivity, asset utilization and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining excellent quality.
• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
• Monitor effectiveness of operations and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
• Recruit, manage and develop factory staff.
• Continuous improvement in Safety, Productivity, Planning, Quality, Maintenance and overall performance.
• Develop and/or refine methods and metrics to track and report productivity, quality, and performance of production activities.
• Confer and cooperate with HR regarding employee issues or grievances.
• Up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
• Systematic problem-solving methods – 8D, Six Sigma
• Maintenance system / TPM practices

Requirements and skills

• Experience leading in a high-volume OEM production environment.
• Proven work experience as a General Manager and leader.
• Exposure on LEAN principles
• Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
• Familiarity with industrial CNC manufacturing equipment and technical expertise
• Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand planning, inventory, and stewardship processes
• Computer literacy and analytical skills using Excel.
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
• BS degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
