We are seeking a Materials Planner to join our dynamic team at our Lenexa, KS MRO site. The Materials Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of materials and inventory, contributing to the seamless operation of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your expertise will directly impact production efficiency and product quality.

What You Will Do:

  • Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. Address any issues related to supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or lead time changes. Resolve and expedite material shortages recovery.

  • Purchasing: Place and manage intercompany orders to prevent material shortages, Create and manage 3rd party repairs purchase orders, Resolve invoicing and pricing issues.

  • Material Forecasting & Planning: Develop and manage material forecasts and production schedules to ensure timely availability of materials for production. Utilize data analysis and historical trends to make informed decisions and adjustments.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize excess or obsolete materials. Implement and maintain inventory management systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Production Support: Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand production requirements and adjust material plans accordingly. Provide support to resolve any material-related issues that may arise during production.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in materials planning and inventory management. Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze material usage data and generate reports to track performance metrics, inventory levels, and forecast accuracy. Use insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.

  • Reporting: Provide Customer Service team and Scheduling team with the latest and most updated statuses. Attend Daily meetings to support the and inform the other teams with recent updates and expected recovery.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience in the aerospace industry or a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Working experience with Supply Chain, Scheduling, and/or Materials Planning processes.

  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems with emphasis on material modules.

  • Working experience with Microsoft Office programs, in particular excel and reporting tools, such as PowerBi/Tableau.
