Job Description:
Role Summary:
The Vice President, Clinical Research Operations will report to OneOncology’s Chief Scientific Officer. This role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating clinical research operations for OneR, OneOncology’s site management organization, while simultaneously ensuring efficient operations related to research projects. This role requires a dynamic individual with extensive knowledge and experience in both clinical and financial aspects of research within a healthcare setting.
This role will be accountable for building, scaling, and continuously transforming OneOncology’s centralized research operations into a best‑in‑class, enterprise research platform, supporting multiple thousands of interventional trial accruals per year. This will be a demanding role in high growth organization, with the need to manage a large team, coordinate with numerous sponsor contacts, and provide dedicated and humble service to OneOncology’s physician & practice partners. As a clinical research leader, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our organization's research initiatives, contributing to medical advancements, and promoting excellence in patient care. This role will have strategic influence and executive level visibility up through OneOncology and Cencora’s leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
Provide executive leadership for all central clinical research operations management within the OneOncology platform, with a particular focus on Contracts & Budgets, Regulatory, and Quality.
Establish shared executive accountability with the Vice President, Clinical Research Sites for the governance, coordination, and performance of clinical trial execution across OneR sites.
Maintain executive accountability for the leadership, performance, and development of a 50+ person corporate clinical research organization, collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare professionals across the network. Proactively interface with healthcare professionals, cooperative groups, contract research organizations, and sponsors utilizing good interpersonal skills to promote collaborative relationships and new clinical trial opportunities.
Design, implement, and optimize work processes for efficient management of high-volume regulatory, contracting, and quality audit functions; Drive reduction in study start-up timelines and contract execution cycles.
Drives program growth by interfacing with executive leadership, principal investigators, physicians, and staff to facilitate program development and service improvement.
Identify, establish, and evaluate quality assurance and performance improvement projects within the program.
Own and report on enterprise research performance metrics, directly linking operational outcomes to revenue growth, margin improvement, capacity utilization, and sponsor satisfaction. Own executive accountability for throughput and performance across hundreds of active oncology trials, providing oversight for a nationally distributed oncology network.
Provide executive leadership and enterprise oversight to align OneOncology operations and clinical teams, ensuring integrated, consistent, and high‑performing clinical research execution across the network.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field; Master's degree preferred
15+ years of healthcare experience with a minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in clinical research, with demonstrated expertise in operational ownership and financial responsibility for clinical trials and resear
