HomeState is a Tex Mex Kitchen in Southern California. We serve tacos, queso, brisket, and margaritas, but more than that, we serve each other. We provide everyone with warm hospitality that makes them feel at home. No matter where you’re from. PAY

$24–$28/ hr with tip share

Base rate is $18.75/hr · With tip share it is reasonable to expect $26–$28/hr

ESSENTIALS THAT YOU BRING

  • Guest Focus: Reenforce guest trust by complying with sanitation standards, portion sizes, recipes, builds, cooking/cooling methods, packaging, kitchen policies. Assist with receiving and storage of all incoming orders to ensure proper temperature control.

Manage time efficiently by taking initiative and working with a sense of urgency to fulfill job duties and checklists, find opportunities to complete other tasks assigned by the leader of the shift.   • Maintain regular, predictable attendance, which includes attendance at all scheduled shifts, training and meetings.

Dishwasher

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans and/or utensils, by operating a dish machine or washing by hand in a three compartment sink. Monitor dishwasher water temperature and approved dish chemicals to ensure sanitary wash cycle. Ensure proper stock of clean kitchen or serviceware. Carry raw and prepared foods, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas including equipment, utensils, tables, shelves, walls, griddles, fryers, mixers, burners, combi oven, and refrigeration units.
  • Sort and remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers. Clean, sweep and mop as directed to assist in maintaining spaces, including common areas like restrooms.
  • Assist and support the kitchen team with various tasks as needed, and provide fellow team members with assistance as requested.
Requirements


  • 1-2 years in the restaurant industry with guest facing roles preferred.
  • Personable and enjoys working with people and a diverse team.
  • Passion for food & hospitality.
  • Availability to work a minimum of five days per week. Extended hours and/or a sixth day may occasionally be required. Weekends, day shifts and evening shifts may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (6 or more hours per shift, excluding break times).
