Description:

The Senior IAM Cybersecurity Project Manager will be responsible for the technical project management needs for assigned projects within the Cybersecurity Identity and Access Management (IAM) portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing large-scale cybersecurity projects with a proven track record of delivering on time and within budget.   This role requires exceptional leadership, collaboration, and risk mitigation skills. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale IAM projects across the enterprise. You will collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and external partners to align IAM strategies with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The responsibilities will span project governance, resource management, risk assessment, and the orchestration of cross-functional teams to ensure IAM solutions are secure, scalable, and user-friendly.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of IAM projects, including strategy development, requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Provide regular updates on program status, risks, and achievements to ensure alignment and support.
  • Cultivate a proactive approach to risk management by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with cybersecurity projects.
  • Ensure that risk management practices are integrated into program planning and execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IAM initiatives, fostering strong relationships with business leaders, IT teams, compliance, and external vendors.
  • Lead change management efforts, including user training, documentation, and communication plans to promote successful adoption of IAM solutions across the organization.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, allocate resources, track expenditures, and report on project financials to leadership.
  • Lead a team of service and delivery leads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s ICARE and ILEAD values.
  • Provide guidance on IAM technologies, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), identity governance and administration (IGA), and directory services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3–5 years focused on IAM or cybersecurity projects.
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity portfolio and program management.
  • strong knowledge of the NIST/NICE framework and its application in cybersecurity program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, enterprise-wide IAM implementations.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, pharmaceuticals) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IAM technologies and protocols: SSO, MFA, PAM, IGA, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based IAM solutions (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, AWS IAM).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet).

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
  • IAM vendor certifications (e.g., Okta, SailPoi
