Job Description:

Reporting to the Dean of the Law Center, the Assistant Dean - Finance & Administration is responsible for all matters pertaining to the receipt and expenditures of the Law Center funds. Serves as Human Resource Analyst.

Must Work independently, exercise independent judgment when discharging responsibilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Must have a commitment to maintain excellent customer service, ability to maintain confidentiality and strong project management and organizational skills to manage responsibilities simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities:

Assistant Dean - Finance & Administration: 40%
Responsible for the development, implementation, management and monitoring of operating, capital outlay, and LSU Foundation accounts and budgets, financial planning, daily accounting procedures, and financial reporting. Advises the Dean on matters of financial strategy and policy. Assists in assuring adherence to University financial and related rules and regulations, as well as State and Federal laws. Serves as liaison with other University offices, State offices, and outside agencies in connection with fiscal and administrative matters. Provides oversight to financial affairs processes and internal controls.

Human Resource Analyst: 35%
Manages and oversees actions of all hiring and staffing processes, compensation and academic actions, and acts as primary contact for all new hires and hiring managers. Applies the policies of the University, primary contact for Human Relations matters. Maintain compliance and assures accurate and timely personnel transactions.

Building Coordinator: 20%
Responsible for coordinating maintenance requests and activities within the building. Serves as primary contact person in dissemination of information to all building occupants regarding utility shut downs, project coordination, firedrills and other emergency situations. Conducts safety inspections of the buildings.

Other duties as assigned. 5%

Additional Requirements:

Cash Handling - This position has access to/directly handles cash. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience
