Sports Field Monitor

Overview

The Sports Field Monitor will be assigned to oversee and supervise a variety of Y Sports Events.

Responsibilities

• Monitor recreation programs, sports officials, attendees and assist staff as needed
• Assist in monitoring scheduled sport programs, follow-up to ensure opening and/or closing of designated facilities
• Learn the operations of the center (as required) as it relates to:
  • Equipment
  • Facility systems
• Ensure the officials, instructors, and coaches are available and report in a timely manner.
• Effectively communicate with program managers, specialists, and Y associates, patrons, players, and parents
• Demonstrate excellent customer service.
• Monitor group and individual activities
• Enforce safety rules.
• Interact with patrons as needed.
• Intervene when patrons are not adhering to guidelines and safety regulations.
• Prepare set-up, and clean-up activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in this or a related field.
• Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• Reflect a positive attitude.
• Must have reliable transportation.  Travel around the Greater Kansas City area is required
