Your New Role…
Manages creation and administration of department and division-wide database programs. Works in conjunction with senior casting executives to oversee day-to-day activities of Independent Casting Directors hired to cast pilots and series
Your Role Accountabilities…
Acts as a liaison between Producers and Independent Casting Directors on projects.
Acts as liaison with agents or managers regarding actors and studio interest in actors.
Reads scripts, generates character breakdowns for the script and provides suggestions for all series regular roles.
Research availability of the best Independent Casting Directors for pilots and series, then makes the appropriate offers based on criteria given by the EVP Head of Casting.
Facilitates approvals of breakdowns and audition materials.
Maintains multi-disciplinary databases used by WBTV Casting, Production, Business Affairs, Labor & Legal.
Responds immediately to production inquiries from production personnel, producers, directors, agents, and managers.
Supports with actor travel, start paperwork and other responsibilities specific to casting director interface with the Casting Dept.
Performs other related duties as assigned and supports Casting Department Execs as needed.
Qualifications & Experience…
Should have a working knowledge of what a casting office does, therefore should have casting or agent office experience in a support staff position.
3 – 5 years experience in casting working in Television, Theatre or Film; and at least 2 years specifically as a Casting Associate.
Additionally, any experience as a Casting Director is a plus.
Experience in episodic and series regular TV casting also a plus.
College Degree preferred.
Typing: 45 wpm
Should know casting basic terminology used daily.
Should be multi-task oriented.
Should be organized and have good attention to details.
Must be able to interact with talent, agents, creative production personnel, and executives.
Must be able to work under constant deadlines, especially during pilot season.
Knowledge of SAG scale rates for episodic television.
Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, iMovie, Cast-It experience preferred.
