Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is seeking an AEGIS SPY Radar Technical Services and Underway Project Engineer to directly support the NSWC Port Hueneme Air Dominance Department. The candidate can be in the Port Hueneme CA, San Diego, CA or Norfolk, VA areas.  General responsibilities and tasking include:   

 

  • Provide engineering and technical services and support for the SPY radar equipment including but not limited to the signal processor, transmitter, antenna equipment groups and SPY system level support.
  • Provide technical evaluations and equipment/system troubleshooting and problem resolutions for SPY Radar.
  • Prepare technical reports. Analyze, review, and prepare recommended solutions for AEGIS ship and system problems.
  • Provide ship event support including ship riding, Total Ship Readiness Assessment support, onsite tech assists, Combat System Ship Qualification Trials support, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) events, and modernization support
  • Required to embark on Carrier Strike Group ships (DDG, CG). Available to move ship to ship within the Strike Group as need for technical assist or training.
  • Provide Test and Evaluation support for the Air Dominance Dept combat systems support systems efforts. Responsibilities include:
  • Data extraction and analysis
  • Prepare test reports
  • Provide electronic data storage for test results
  • Participate in drawing reviews in support of any SPY radar equipment. Prepare drawing revisions.
  • Prepare changes to documentation including SCDs, ECPs, and ORDALTS
  • Support multiple projects from the SPY Radar Engineering Branch including:
  • Content generation of SPY Radar technical manual, Maintenance Index Pages, MRCs, procedures and handbooks
  • Review and update technical documentation

 

This opportunity is a salaried position with additional compensation paid during underway assignments.  Ship Event support could span several months and includes travel for inport preparation periods (1-2 weeks) and short duration underway events (typically less than 30 days) Travel up to 40% - CONUS and OCONUS.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree or minimum of 10 years of experience within Navy shipboard environment with at least six years focused on repair, preventative and corrective maintenance on the SPY Radar.
  • Assembly, preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic consoles, network racks, and controllers.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

 

Skills

  • Possess superior leadership, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the confidence to work independently and to provide efficient response to task deadlines .
  • Ability to read, understand and apply technical schematics.

Desired Qualifications

  • Aegis BL 9 or newer experience
  • Master Training Specialist Designation
  • Combat Systems Maintenance Manager
