About The Role

The Mindvalley data engineering, data science and analytics teams are helping to build the future of education through data-informed decision making and data-powered products.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to manage the data science team, plan, execute, and deliver machine learning-based projects. This role is responsible for the use of statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques applied to complex data structures. Critical success factors include providing analytical insights, models, data visualizations and analytical direction that shape the future strategy of Mindvalley.

The team vision is to use data to make better business decisions that can increase brand loyalty, revenue and customer centricity. Researching and developing applications for advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, the candidate will support our mission to transform the business and platform. Working cross-functionally across the organization to deliver on various use cases that positively influence business decisions and direction. The primary responsibility for this position will be to elevate the level of our advanced analytics, statistical and ML models and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, curate, explore, and analyze data from large data sources
  • Develop and deploy statistical and ML models that influences business decisions
  • Develop data/analytics algorithms and data structures
  • Collaborate with business owners, stakeholders and leadership to methodically transform business problems into detailed and practical analytical requirements
  • Support the definition and deployment of a machine learning environment
  • Innovate new ML methods in the data sciences space
  • Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new application development and data quality improvement efforts

Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Additional certifications in data science or analytics-related field
  • Background in or working knowledge of Deep Learning and Neural Networks
  • Experience in developing analytical solutions from non-standard data sources (eg, free form text, twitter feeds, etc.)
  • Build, integrate and deploy machine learning solutions into the business decision making process and app/web platforms
  • Proactively mine data warehouses to identify trends and patterns to generate insights for business units
  • Perform large-scale experimentation to identify hidden relationships between variables in large datasets
  • Research and implement cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence to make data analysis more efficient
  • Visualize information and develop engaging reports on the results of data analysis using data visualization tools
  • Utilize a consultative approach to work with the business to solve challenging problems using various analytical techniques
  • Research new data sources and analytical tools, contribute to new application development, and data quality improvement efforts
  • Ability to originate curiosity to collaborate with different business units to co-create solutions
  • Blend of strategic and tactical thinking, creative and analytical reasoning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or similar field
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Economics or Operations Research or similar field
  • Expert in methods and tools to extract, curate, explore, and analyze data from large data sources (eg, SQL, Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Oracle).
  • Proven track record with machine learning (ML) tools to influence business decisions (eg, Python, Spark, R, TensorFlow)
  • Extensive experience in the use of advanced statistics
