Director, Database Engineer

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an experienced Database Engineer that will provide administration and engineering support for mission-critical databases supporting business and enterprise applications.

This position requires supporting multi-RDBMS platform support (Oracle and MYSQL). In addition, having skillset for in-memory database platform and open-source database platforms (Postgres and Mongo DB is preferred). This position requires result-oriented individual who pays great attention to details and is a great problem solver. Automation skillset is a must for this role and this individual will be interacting with other engineering, application & business development, and operations team members within the organization.
What you'll do in the role:
Provide database engineering support for mission critical systems with backend as Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, and Redis databases and drive to learn and automate process for listed database platforms
Automate database engineering activities and document the process for Operations team
Provide operational and engineering support for Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle ADG, Data Encryption (TLS), Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle GoldenGate with Bigdata, Heterogeneous Replication, Partitioning, Oracle VPD, MSSQL Always-On, MySQL Replication, Postgres, and Redis clustering
What you'll bring to the role:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL database engineering work and patching in a large-scale distributed environment
5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle ASM
Familiarity with database security concepts (SOX compliance)
Experience with performance tuning on Oracle, MSSQL, MYSQL database platforms.
Be able to automate different administration and engineering tasks on desired RDBMS platforms leveraging Python, Shell, and/or PowerShell scripting
Experience with open-source databases like Postgres and Mongo DB. Cloud experience is a plus
Ability to analyze information and draw conclusions on system performance and trends
Agile and be able to adapt and learn new technologies
