The Senior Fraud Consultant – Investigations is responsible for various functions related to Fraud/BSA compliance. The Senior Fraud Consultant will work closely with the Fraud Manager with oversight of investigations and perform various functions related to investigation of fraud and suspicious activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Review and disposition all assigned cases, or fraud alerts that may be generated by the Bank’s transaction monitoring and/or screening systems(s).
2. Conduct investigations of fraud and suspicious activity, including Deposit Fraud, Check Fraud, Online Account Takeover, Kiting, Elder Financial Exploitation, ACH Fraud, Identity Theft, etc.
3. Conduct investigations of Grand Jury Subpoena reviews and law enforcement requests.
4. Document investigations within the Bank’s automated BSA/AML/Fraud transaction monitoring system according to bank policy and procedures.
5. Draft SARs for filing with FinCEN, including Continuing Activity Reviews.
6. Interface daily with customer servicing officers and other bank employees regarding customer transactions to determine if items are authentic or fraudulent to return within the timeframe to avoid a customer and/or bank loss.
7. Communicate suspicious activity to the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Assistant Fraud Manager - Investigations and/or Fraud Manager.
8. Work reports and databases using established policies and procedures.
9. Work closely with internal functions including Disputes, Recoveries, Customer Service, and Compliance.
10. Monitor consumer transaction and account activity for potentially fraudulent activity, including identity theft, kiting, account take-over, friendly fraud, and other identified risks.
11. Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:
• Minimum of 6 years of experience of risk management, fraud investigation, FinCEN/SAR processing, fraud alert decisioning, financial services, operations, audits, or any equivalent combination of financial industry experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Financial Crimes, fraud investigations, fraud alert decisioning and FinCEN/SAR processing.
• Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and other state and federal regulations pertaining to check fraud and check processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and effective, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented with excellent research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Verafin transaction monitoring system a plus.
