Position Summary

Position performs a variety of duties involved in the operation of University’s parking areas and the enforcement of parking rules and regulations.

This position is for Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm with Friday and Saturday off.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • When assigned to the field, patrols designated parking areas and inspects vehicles for display of appropriate parking permits. Enforces University parking rules and regulations.
  • Issues parking citations to vehicles parked in violation of University parking rules using TickeTrack hand held computer.
  • Consistent with departmental policies, assists outside vendor to tow and/or relocate vehicles.
  • When assigned as garage attendant, greets faculty, staff, students and visitors politely at the access control booth in the underground garage, allowing vehicles with permits access to the garage and processing monetary transactions for those who do not have permits. Addresses concerns or questions regarding the access control while remaining sensitive to the University community's needs.
  • Assists with lot closings, notifications and parking space reservations in preparation for special events.
  • Provides information to faculty, staff, students and the general public regarding campus activities, locations, directions and offices. Explains parking rules and regulations to campus community and directs drivers to alternative parking areas as necessary.
  • Performs all duties associated with the University’s Motorist Assist Program including, but not limited to, lock out, jump-start and customer transportation.
  • Submits all appropriate paperwork according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel to various on- and off-campus locations.

License Requirements

  • Driver's License: Class E required.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting between 25-50 lbs.

Equipment

  • Operation of motor vehicles.
  • Use of simple hand tools.

Salary Range

$17.03 - $24.61 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
