Nursery Aide

Position Summary: To provide safe, quality childcare of infants and preschool aged children.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe environment for infant and preschool children in the nursery.
• Supervise the volunteers that are assigned to assist.
• Check in and out the children so they are safely returned to their appropriate parents or guardians.
• Monitor the toys and resources, updating the Corps Officers if new items are needed and discarding of old/dangerous items.
• Ensure the nursery space is cleaned at the end of each shift.
• Document injuries or issues as they arise, properly informing parents and Corps Officers.
• Maintain and report statistics for all community center activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience: 

• High school diploma / GED; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Experience working with children

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: 

• Ability to interact with different personality types
• Energetic personality
• Ability to work varied shifts, to include Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday as needed

Computer Skills:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Basic knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
• Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates and Licenses: 

• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
