Description
DAVE (Digital Audio Visual Environments), is a fast-growing division of VP Supply. We provide custom Audio Visual solutions throughout the Greater Rochester Area, which includes design, integration and installation home theaters, home automation, security and surveillance, home networking, custom vehicle systems, and commercial installation.
Position Overview:
Our DAVE division is seeking to hire an AV Installer with at least three years of experience to join our Rochester, NY branch. This role will provide deployment and implementation services of various video, audio and web collaborations systems working with other vendors to ensure excellent service and timely implementation in corporate environments. Entry level cable technicians looking to move into the more technical aspects of communication technologies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure collaboration system solutions per statement of work (TV, flat panel, audio solutions, video wall, and video conferencing solutions).
- Identify and escalate business and technical opportunities as appropriate.
- Provide customer-facing end-user documentation.
- Participate in frequent internal meetings with colleagues, managers and account managers regarding account status and ongoing issues.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers, vendors, and staff. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Attend all appointments on-time with focus on providing quality client service.
- Submit detailed records in a timely manner (time sheets, tickets, reports, etc.).
- Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the core values of the Company.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of professional experience as an electronics installer, alarm technician, cable/satellite installer, electrician, or other related trade.
- Hands on knowledge and experience in the implementation, design of residential systems integration including audio/video systems, automation and residential control systems, basic understanding of alarm systems and wiring, shading and window treatment installations, and residential IT/Networking.
- Proficient with cable pulling, audio, video, control, & network terminations in both new construction and retro-fit applications
- Knowledge of basic framing and construction, power, and electrical concepts.
- Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Must be resourceful and willing to work through challenges that arise throughout the day
- Attention to detail and pride in your work is a must.
- Ambition to strive for 100% client satisfaction at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience programming A/V, Lighting Control and other types of automation systems is a plus, but not required.
- A/V industry certification is a plus.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
So what does a typical work week look like? On Monday you might be installing TVs in a new sports bar. On Tuesday you might be pre-wiring a group of residential homes under construction. On Wednesday you might be installing a new video conference system in a large corporate office. Thursday you are installing a surveillance or alarm system. And Friday might be full of small service calls and troubleshooting. As you can see, every day is a new day with different and exciting challenges. We do our best to provide a well planned and structured day however, priorities can shift at a moments notice. Your ability to be flexible and adjust on the fly is a must.
