The Job:  

As a Quality Lab Supervisor, you’ll be part of our Lakewood, OH team working as an on-site employee.  The Quality Supervisor will work with management to support activities in the Mechanical and Metallurgical Test lab. You’ll get to:  

• Assist in maintaining compliance with IATF 16949 quality certification.
• Maintain Laboratory testing schedule and product throughput deadlines to meet shipping, PPAP and NCM or customer-specific testing needs.  
• Guide technicians in testing techniques for mechanical, metallurgical and dimensional checks.
• Supervise employees (lab technicians) in testing techniques and work schedules.
  • Ensure proper training in testing techniques and equipment use
  • Conduct annual proficiency testing
  • Organize work and time-off schedules
  • Review technician performance
• Ensure the proper maintenance of Laboratory equipment and ordering of consumable materials.
  • Research of proper equipment use and troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Order maintenance, service, calibration, or consumables for equipment
• Approve lab work, knowledge of lab process systems such as IQS, LX, WMS

The Person:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality lab setting environment.
• 2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.

• Thorough knowledge of product testing is required including but not limited to current equipment and procedures. i.e. Tensile, fatigue testing.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical documents, and GD&T knowledge
• Ability to use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other quality lab tools.
• It is mandatory for the Laboratory Supervisor to have a working knowledge of the latest test standards and customer specifications.
