Scope of position: The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute are committed to enhancing the responsibility to the community and neighborhood for a positive impact on health and social outcomes. The Center for Community Outreach and Engagement (CCOE) Community Outreach Senior Representative will function as an integral member of a team to work with internal programs, community agencies and organizations to develop strategic plans and programs that promote healthier communities, evaluate and increase enrollment in clinical trials. This position functions as an integral member of CCOE to assist in the development, implementation, and management of community outreach programs within the Youth/Young adult populations.  They will manage all student related programs, placements and internships working closely with Cancer Research Education and Training Department at OSUCCC The James.

Position Summary: The Community Outreach Senior Representative is responsible for working in partnership to identify, develop and implement operational opportunities to enhance James Cancer Hospital operations within the  community, colleges and universities and High Schools to include youth and young adult (AYA) populations. Serve as a liaison and assist in the managing of existing community outreach efforts and other initiatives in the community and youth/ young adult population as directed by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience is required, master’s degree in education, Health Administration, Public Health or selected field with emphasis in Community Relations is preferred. Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with CCOE staff and other organizations. Understand the community served - community connectedness. Good communication skills, such as listening well, and using language appropriately.
