Requirements

The Digital Health and Happiness Lab (or Happy Tech Lab) is led by Dr. Kostadin Kushlev at Georgetown’s Department of Psychology. Lying at the intersection between digital technology, happiness, and health, the research in The DHH Lab is designed to answer basic scientific questions about the role of digital technology in health and well-being with both theoretical and applied implications.

The Lab Manager is a part time role that will be working closely with Dr. Kushlev to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory, including managing expense reimbursements, planning meetings, and supervising research assistants. The incumbent will also directly participate in conducting research, including managing studies, analyzing data, and writing research reports. Working up to 20 hours per week and reporting to Dr. Kushlev, additional duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintain lab equipment, managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, approvals, and compliance.

• Plan research events and meetings, recruiting, onboarding, and supervising research assistants.

• Maintain and update the lab’s training materials and website.

• Manage reimbursements and research studies, preparing research materials when needed.

• Process and analyze data, writing, editing, and proofreading research reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field

• 1 year of post-bacculerate research experience OR 2 years of undergraduate research experience in a psychology lab

• Interpersonal and professional communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Outstanding attention to detail

• Experience with data cleaning and data analysis

• Experience with R or equivalent statistical software

• Eagerness to participate in a wide range of intellectual activities

• Eagerness to learn new skills and master new tasks as necessary

• Interest in the research conducted in the lab

• Fit of the position and research given future career aspirations

• Experience working with clients or customers

• Real-world work experience

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$19.20 - $28.70

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
