Job Overview
Marathon Oil is seeking an HES College Learner to join the HES Technical Services Team in Houston, TX. This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in the Technical Services Team by managing data entry, analysis, visualization, reporting, and presentation tasks. This position is designed to enhance academic learning through practical, real-world application in a supportive and challenging environment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate data entry and ensure the integrity of data in our systems.
- Identify improvement to current workflows.
- Analyze data to identify trends, generate insights, and support decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards.
- Prepare reports or presentations on data findings.
- Collaborate with team members on projects that require data-driven solutions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data management protocols.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- Must be able to work in Marathon Oil’s Houston office.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications. Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Spotfire) is preferred.
- Experience with database management and the ability to query and manipulate large data sets is preferred.
- Experience with data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data quality and accuracy is preferred.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms is preferred.
- Have the authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
