Software Analysts

Software analysts are responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to business needs, among other duties.

The best IT business analysts have exceptional interpersonal skills as they need to act as a communication link between the IT and Executive branches.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a liaison between the IT department and executive management.
• Analyze and understand strategic business needs to foster growth.
• Enhance the quality of IT products and services.
• Coordinate with developers to design and implement technology solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and end-users to elicit and document software requirements, ensuring a clear and comprehensive understanding of project objectives.
• Create detailed and well-structured software requirement documents, user stories, and use cases, maintaining traceability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a workflow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
• Analyze, design, and develop modifications and changes to existing systems to enhance performance.
• Design efficient IT systems to meet business and technology needs.
• Conduct A/B tests and data analysis to inform business decisions.

Requirements:

• High school diploma; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Analysis, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software analysis or a related role.
• Experience in software analysis to generate designs that are shared with development teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Hands-on experience with technical projects.
• Knowledge of databases, system security, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps is desirable.
