As a vital part of the global Davies Group, we help businesses navigate risk, optimize operations, and spearhead transformation in the insurance and regulated sectors.Davies is looking for an experienced Commercial Auto Adjuster to handle Commercial Trucking claims, as well as first- and third-party property damage liability claims. Reporting to the TPA Team Supervisor, you will conduct claims investigations, take recorded statements, and establish liability on each assigned claim.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate newly reported Commercial Trucking claims to determine liability and exposure.
- Direct and monitor field related investigative activities assigned.
- Review policies and procedures for compliance with client and Davies handling guidelines.
- Negotiate and settle large exposure property claims
- Prepare written status and large loss reports for internal and client escalation.
- Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary
- Direct and monitor defense counsel to settle litigated claims
- Provide monetary authority and strategy to counsel to ensure client’s money and claims are protected
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- Ability to manage complex claims including litigation, coverage, damage analysis, experts, reserving, subrogation and risk transfer
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
- Ability to analyze and research legal and claim trends
- Ability to understand policies and strong reading, writing skills
- Experience handling litigated claims in multiple jurisdictions
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to review and interpret estimates
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required
- Minimum 5 - 10 years’ claims experience
- Multiple state adjuster licenses preferred. A current California and Texas license are required. *We can consider exceptional candidates with a Designated Home State License outside of Texas and California.
- Candidates must be fluent/bilingual in English and Spanish
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through the preparation of reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
