As a Lead Data Engineer, you will architect, develop, and optimize scalable, high-performance solutions using advanced software engineering methodologies and cutting-edge Data & AI technologies, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making and business growth through collaborative efforts with diverse teams.

What You Will Do:

• Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Data & AI and Gen AI solutions, including Gen AI Agents on MCP Servers and AskDocs/AskData chat systems, using best practices like automation, version control, and CI/CD.

• Translate complex Data, AI, and Large Language Model (LLM) use cases into effective data models, pipelines, and LLM service architectures, ensuring data quality and service reliability.

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable microservices, APIs, and LLM-based services, adhering strictly to security best practices and ensuring readiness to pass Red Team testing.

• Evaluate and implement cloud and on-premise technologies to optimize platform scalability, performance, cost, monitoring, and security posture.

• Collaborate with clients, senior leadership, and diverse teams through excellent communication to convert data and AI capabilities into actionable business insights.

•  Lead rigorous testing strategies and oversee deployment processes, addressing configuration, environment, security issues, and ensuring compliance with organizational security requirements.

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired such as Computer Science or Scientific Computing desired.

• 5+ years of related experience.

• Expertise in Python, React, and Large Language Models (LLM) for building advanced AI applications and services.

• Strong architectural and design skills specifically for LLM services and generative AI solutions, with a focus on security and compliance.

• Experience with Data & AI technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP.

• Proficiency in API and microservice development patterns, including HTTP/REST and GraphQL, with an emphasis on secure coding practices.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients, leaders, and cross-functional teams.

Our Lead Data/AI Engineering, earns between $143,800-$215,800 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
