Signal Timing Technician (Transportation Specialist) III, IV, or V: Traffic Signal Crew (Austin District)

TxDOT's Austin District is looking for a Signal Timing Technician III, IV, OR V for the Traffic Signal Crew based at our Austin District Headquarters. This position provides technical expertise and coordination for transportation programs involving multiple design and advanced building construction projects, construction of transportation systems, traffic operations, and maintenance of highways and facilities. Assists with project planning and oversight, and the development and interpretation of guidelines, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures for the area of responsibility. Work requires contact with governmental officials, consultants, contractors, and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plans and priorities to meet established objectives, are virtually self-supervising, and assume direct accountability for work products, with issues rarely referred to the supervisor and typically handled at the time of occurrence.

This position is for ONE Signal Timing Technician III, IV, or V. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Salary Plan/Grade:

Signal Timing Technician III:   B21:($54,278 - $87,046/yearly)
Signal Timing Technician IV:   B22:($57,614 - $93,138/yearly)
Signal Timing Technician V:    B24:($65,104- $106,634/yearly)
