Mobile Crane Operator

Description

The Mobile Crane Operator loads and unloads material using company equipment to specified locations while maintaining a safe and organized yard while achieving company goals, under the direction of the Area Supervisor. Efficiently identifies and sorts materials and feeds the shredder conveyor line. Additional responsibilities include equipment up-keep, non-mechanical maintenance, and safe operation.

Requirements

1. Perform physical duties that are associated with the operation of equipment
2. Break open and sort bales to be processed
3. Remove nonconforming materials from the feedstock pile
4. Track nonconforming materials with the matching ticket for the load of material being processed
5. Unload and sort inbound trucks
6. Properly pack down trucks loaded by loader operators to make room for more material when needed
7. Follow direction of the Area Supervisor with regards to daily production and activities to complete the job
8. Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as required
9. Follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all times
10. Work independently in the absence of direct supervision
11. Profound ability to make decisions, solve problems and handle high stress situations calmly and safely

Education/Experience

1. Basic math, reading and writing skills
2. Heavy equipment experience preferred (Skid Steer, Bob Cat, Fork Lift, Front End Loader, Crane)

1. Knowledge of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous Materials
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work efficiently
4. Pass a pre-employment drug screening
5. Pass a pre-employment background check
6. Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Physical Requirements

1. Sit and stand for long periods of time
2. Able to climb into mobile equipment
3. Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
