Registered Nurse (RN)


As a Float Registered Nurse you will provide quality professional nursing care to patients and their families adhering to the WI Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code of the WI Board of Nursing, and/or appropriate nursing standards governing nursing in the state of practice, the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and Unity Policies and Procedures. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary care team to provide the best outcomes for the patient and family. Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.


Schedule:

 4x a week,9-hour shifts, minimum every 4th weekend, on-call 1 shift every 5-6 weeks, 2 holidays per year 


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN): 


As a Float Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical and case management based on the patient's diagnosis and end-of-life symptoms. You will complete initial, comprehensive, and updated assessments of patient and family needs. Report any significant changes to physicians and team members and provide consistent documentation while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. Additionally, you will provide education to the patients and families, administer medication, and complete new admissions, all while providing supportive and compassionate care to patients and their families.

Build relationships with referral sources and organize referrals

Communicate with all interdisciplinary team members

Promote and maintain confidentiality

Maintain personal and professional boundaries

Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Shares in providing 24-hour, seven-day-a-week coverage

Prioritize daily work and make adjustments taking into account the needs of patients, Unity, and other staff.

Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.

Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education

Associate’s degree in nursing required, Bachelor’s degree nursing preferred.


Certification/Registration/Licensure

RN license in the state of practice required (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of practice).
